Santé mentale et burnout des radiologues : outils de mesure, facteurs de risques. Enquête en région Centre Val-de-Loire

Abstract : The syndrome of professional exhaustion or burnout particularly affects physicians with very little data available on French radiology. The objective of this article is to present the characteristics of burnout and the commonly used rating scale (MBI scale) as well as the scale used to assess anxiety and depression (HADS scale). The results of a survey carried out among radiologists in the Center Val-de-Loire region, based on these scales by associating them with additional questions specific to radiological activity, shows very worrying and more pejorative mental health scores than for most other medical specialties. This article invites each radiologist to take stock of their mental health using the scales proposed and to engage in a dialogue within the teams on this inventory to propose solutions aimed at improving satisfaction and personal fulfillment at work. The combination of organizational changes and support for individuals provides an effective approach to reducing stress at work.
